We just had a evaluation with the future 1 dan’s, 6. month before the graduation. And i just thought to share a littel of what we talked about here at the International Gashuku Camp in Denmark.

Ofcause we had an evaluation on the individual status of the shin, gi, tai (mind/heart, technics, body/physical), where are there strenghts and where do the have to focus.
We talked about that it is no longer enough to know and be able to show kihon and kata, but also have to show and Edge on this.
We talked about the individual persons travel, not only to compare with others, but also how Long the individual has gode on his/her Road.
And we told that this evaluation as much is an evaluation of us, and where we as trainers should focus.

But we also talked about the responsibility, as Senpai, Senseis and Shihan’s, to make sure we are not watering Down Sosai Mas Oyamas Kyokushin karate Do, from generation to generation.
It is our resonsibility, that when the new shodan’s are teaching in the future. They know what is correct. They know the details in kihon and kata. They know about the spirit in Kyokushin. They understand the meaning of Osu no seishin, Renma, Rei, Fudoshin, zazen, the Dojo kun and the Zayu no Mei Juichi Kajo that Sosai wrote as the philosofical Foundation of Kyokushin..

It is not enough to be strong or to be skilled. Ofcause it is a prerequisite that you are, but they also have to understand the Foundation of the system, so that this is what they Will pas on to there future students.

This is why the strong has to focus on technic. The technicians need to be strong and hardened.
This is why they have to be prepared for the trial, so that after, they can feel proud and know, that without all the preparation and focus on the different areas, also the ones that they dont feel so much for, is nessasary to graduate, and represent the whole art of Sosai Mas Oyamas Kyokushin karate Do in the future.
